A Wonderful Woman

One week ago my aunt, Sharie Higbee, lost her short battle with lung cancer. It was a big blow to our family. Sharie was an amazing woman with such a big heart. She spent her life caring for others, and worked for many years helping make wishes come true with the Make A Wish foundation.

Sharie was also an incredible artist. She worked with glass making stained glass, plates, and awesome jewelry. I am honored to have several of her pieces to wear and honor her by.

I was also honored to be asked to play the piano at her funeral. Sharie was an inspiration to me, I am amazed at what she accomplished in her short life. From travelling to volunteering Sharie found time for it all.

She will be greatly missed but this week we were comforted to know that she's now in a better place and pain free. Her lung cancer was diagnosed last December as Stage 4. Despite aggressive treatments, Sharie's body couldn't beat it. I'm happy she's no longer suffering. I'm also happy to know she was welcomed home on the other side by her father Art on Fathers Day. We love you Sharie. Till we meet again.
